Simple Jacket

This is the first time I've made a coat and didn't swear I would never make another one. It was a lot of work, but nothing too drastic. I like the collar.

The fabric is kind of busy, though. Do you think it's too much? I might get some more to make a dress...

I might model it later when I'm not sick & ugly.

The Sock Knitting Kit

Socks! I've been meaning to learn how to knit socks for a long time, and my dear Elizabeth read my mind and gave me The Sock Knitting Kit for my birthday (it comes with a book, unidentified yarn, and needles). I wanted to take it slow, so I made the ankle socks first. Everytime I was involved in public displays of knitting, everyone asked if I was making booties. Yeah, for a baby with gigantic feet. Anyway, they were super easy, so I think knit socks will be in my knitting future (unlike sweaters).

I think the yarn might be an acrylic blend, because they're washable but still warm.

I wasn't sure how to do a model-y pose with socks, so this is what I came up with.
